Artist Note
My still life paintings, which capture the various traces and memories of our lives, are not simply a pursuit of beauty but an attempt to draw out my inner thoughts and emotions through them. It could be the scent of a flower, the essence… or a faint breath, of someone who was once with the object.
Through color and composition, I wanted to metaphorically express the messages… and thoughts of the subjects of the paintings but did not want to attempt to explain them explicitly.
Blue in the work is also the color that represents me.
Blue, which is cold but deep and warm, through blue and white porcelain
Adding depth, it draws me into another space.
우리들 삶 속의 다양한 흔적...
기억들을 옮겨 놓은 나의 정물화는 단지 아름다움의 추구가 아닌 그를 통한 내면의 사유와 정서를 끌어내려 함이다.
색과 구성을 통해 그 주체를 그곳에 있게 한 대상이 전하는 메시지, 사유를 은유적으로 표현하고자 하였으며 굳이 설명하려 들지 않았다.
작업 속 Blue는 나를 나타내는 색이기도 하다.
차가우면서도 깊고 따뜻함을 지닌 블루가 청화 백자를 통해 사유의 깊이를 더해가며 또 다른 공간 속으로 나를 끌어들인다.
